“It’s ok your just sick, we can make you better, fix you. You’re broken but with time you can change. We can make you right” the biggest lie there is. The lie that to be queer is the same as being sick. The that the queer is walking aids, the literally plague, that infects your families, and turns your sons and daughters against you. The queer is demonized in favor of some more perfect familial order. A mom, a dad, 2 straight kids, and a dog , the ideal image the queer doesn’t fit into. This idea, start in a story where the students of freud continued his work of sexuality, and claimed that queerness, specifically homosexuality, was a sickness because it reject the roles put on them by the families norms. Then a couple of rich white guys unconfident in their own egotisical masculinity, decided to officially make queerness as a diease in the dsm1 in 1952. The American culture jumped on it, queerness was a diease that was then attempted to be cured by beating, electroshock therapy, rape, forced sex change therapy, and finally praying the gay away, a system that has leads to more self hate, suicides, and drug use then any other type of therapy. In 2010 the American pyschoatic association, deemed that queerness wasn’t biological but rather a result of unhealthy and abnormal childhood or upbrings. Meaning this is accepted and gay conversion therapy still exists even though queerness as a diease was removed from the DSM 3 in 1973! But you know it’s time we address this crisis and we say fuck The system that recreates hate. Fuck The structure that kills love and identity. Fuck the idea of the perfect nuclear family. And fuck The system of production that give power to the nuclear family.

it gets better, with time it gets better. That’s what they all say. So we wait, and wait, and yet it stays the same, it doesn’t get better. It didn’t get better for mark carson, a 32 year old black gay man that was shot as the killer laughed “die fag die”. It didn’t get better for bryan almonte, a gay man that was raped and shot. And it doesn’t get better for the victims of occupy paedophilia, a 2,000 strong hate group in Russia that hunts, rapes and kills any member of the LGBT community for sport, like the hunger games. But people don’t wanna hear that, and they respond with “look at all this progress that’s happening.” Yeah, progress. We went from 50 plus people being beaten at the gay club, the stonewall inn in 1969, passed a couple laws saying we can marry along the way, to 50 plus queer brothers and sisters gunned down at the pulse night club in Orlando, florida. Yet you call it progress!! Or how about that several states have “gay panic laws” where it is legal to kill a queer person if you feel their presence or behavior causes sexual violence, or discomfort. Progress!! The truth is for the queer, to live is to die. We have no future, and we are destined for a bloody burning death. Queer life is literal queer death. And when ever we believe it gets better, we only ignore the truth. But you know what? If my life is death, then im going out on my terms, my term, middle finger in the air, and doing what I love, and loving myself, ignoring my future and living in the moment. That’s where the story of the 1ac being, when we start living in the moment.
