Effective revolutionary praxis must be based in peace and reconciliation. Violence only divides individuals and destroys potential for positive chance. KingMarin Luther King Jr, Civil Rights Advocate, February 6,1957, Nonviolence and Racial Justice
"The alternative to...of our lives."
Violence only reverts hierarchies- the oppressed become the new oppressor because the root cause of structural violence is ignorance and hatred. Violent solutions only reinforce those qualities but for opposing groups. This is especially true in the context of the gun control debate- arming groups for violent insurrection is not a long term solution capable of causing positive change. This means err aff on the solvency debate because I'm a step towards more peaceful change- I disarm weapons and try to seek positive change without violence.
